Plowman and Cummins
‘Plowman and Cummins’ is experimental clown duo Sally Plowman and Cailin Cummins. Using surreal visual elements, physical theatre and splintered narrative, we integrate clowning and performance art. We are interested in a slapstick revival, thinking about how the grotesque and violent can reject neutrality and upturn gendered etiquette. We like falling over covered in shaving foam, turning the world upside down and bringing everyone with us. We see clowning as a radical position, where skilled chaos can threaten the status quo.
