OPEN205
Open 205 is a space in which the entire creative process occurs under one roof. We work collectively "in-house," in a space where work is simultaneously created and exhibited by the artists who inhabit it. Having all aspects of the art space in-house aims to reduce the commercialisation of art, putting the control of presentation in the hands of the artists and preventing mediation from the bureaucratic art world influences that are used to commodify creativity. By operating an art space in this format, we are building better relationships with visitors and growing a community of those with creative interests. We diversify the gallery's purpose by hosting practical workshops, public events, and showcases of a selected artist roster.
