Grounds Maintenance Apprentice - Phoenix Housing

Phoenix Community Housing are looking to strengthen their existing grounds maintenance team and are looking to employ a Grounds Maintenance Apprentice. The role involves the delivery of horticultural duties across sites in Downham, Bellingham and Whitefoot as part of a mobile team (driving license is desirable).

Your duties will include:

Working across sites to deliver a range of Grounds Maintenance duties, ensuring work is completed on time and to a high standard

Providing an excellent level of customer service

Building and maintaining good relationships with customers

Operating horticultural machinery, i.e. trimming hedges, pruning flower beds, mowing grass, litter picking, sweeping and clearing leaves etc

Taking part in training as and when required

Ability to encourage and motivate your colleagues

Ability to work well within a team as well as to work unsupervised

Excellent customer service skills

A willingness to learn new skills

Punctual, hard-working and able to use own initiative

As an Apprentice you will work towards a Horticulture qualification delivered by a Training Provider who will support your learning and development throughout your Apprenticeship. This will involve a Vocational Learning Advisor coming to visit you on a regular basis to deliver the training and guide you through your Apprenticeship.
