Senior Social Worker - (Hospital)

The role:

Lewisham Adults Social Care is changing, we know what good social work looks like and our new restructure is all about creating the right conditions and culture for good practice to thrive. We want to attract senior practitioners to work in our hospital team. You will be working in partnership with our colleagues in Safeguarding, Quality Assurance, and Continuing

Healthcare as well as our local GP’s and health professionals. Our teams are made up of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Nurses and Social Workers and non-qualified staff and cover our remit of A & E, Discharge to Assess, and the Complex Case team.

We know that talking about what good practice looks like is easy, the challenge is turning our vision into a reality. We understand to achieve our ambitions it requires inspiring leadership, resources, infrastructure and a clear, realistic plan for how to get there.

Location

You will be based at Laurence House, Catford, SE6 4RU.

Key skills:

All posts work with people from age 18 upwards, and across all adult care groups.

All teams within adult social care are setup to work alongside key agencies and offer strength based interventions to support vulnerable people to maximise their independence and well-being. You will be responsible for holding a small complex case load, and supervising/coaching/mentoring junior staff in their day to day delivery of high quality social care.

• Enthusiastic and innovative
• Able to demonstrate a commitment to personalisation, strength and asset based practice
• Experienced in applying knowledge regarding the relevant legislation
• Able to supervise junior staff and support strong team performance
