"On the Nose"

Opening next Thursday 13 August at SET Lewisham, “On the Nose” is a dynamic group exhibition focusing on humour, eschewing and challenging the falsely assumed severity of contemporary art.

Through painting, installation, and sculpture, various artists are given space to approach the subject matter in unique and captivating ways while maintaining the integrity of their respective crafts: paying homage to popular forms of culture, childhood play, and folklore.

“On The Nose” also uses SET Lewisham as a space to showcase a range of artists and practitioners working in zine production, featuring the work of illustrators and designers dedicated to print, forming a modern archive of tactile and experimental publishing.

The exhibition is co-curated by Sasha Mills and Joseph Dalton, MA students within the Visual Cultures Department at Goldsmiths, University of London.
