I am Ugne - hands and heart behind Ancient Wisdom Designs.
From a young age, I was drawn to colour and found endless inspiration in nature. Creating has always been my way of relaxing and exploring, perhaps inspired by my grandfather, who was a creative soul.
About 15 years ago, I discovered the Mexican weaving tradition of Ojos de Dios (God’s Eye) mandalas, and something instantly resonated with me. I kept returning to the practice, deepening my connection to it over time.
In past years, I began exploring new yarns and patterns, creating vibrant handwoven mandalas that are not only decorative pieces but symbols of protection, harmony, and a deep bond with nature. Encouraged by loved ones, I started sharing my work, and for the past two years, I’ve been creating new mandalas and custom pieces while continually refining my craft.
