Brenda Rattray

Born in London of Caribbean Parents she has worked Internationally as a Voice Expressive workshop leader, a performer, Composer and arranger, Poet and Choir Conductor and is also a prolific graphic Artist. She is renowned for having an enormous talent for teaching and communicating with groups from all walks of life and has been running workshops and refining her teaching all her life - she started teaching straight out of school aged of 17.

Her passion for education and her approach to music making and teaching have resulted in her working extensively in all areas of the community including nurseries, Primary and Secondary schools, both working with children and training teachers, Prisons in Australia, England and Northern Ireland, High profile Psychiatric Hospitals, colleges, with Travellers in fields, a host of Universities including Goldsmiths and The Guildhall school of Music and Drama and Glyndebourne, For the English National Opera, in children’s homes, with the RNIB, with detainees in Yarlswood detention centre and for Orchestras including the London Philharmonic and both the BBC Concert and Symphony Orchestras, for whom she arranges music and Composes.
